Kim Cattrall is doing her best to undo the pigeonhole Sex in the City created by having her bare T&A in almost every episode. You gotta love HBO for that type of artistic freedom.

Common sense would dictate this was an attempt to balance viewership. Cattrall’s nudity assisted in metaphorically handcuffing (to the couch) every sad, confused male spousal counterpart just looking to understand the psyche of the woman he failed miserably at sexually pleasing on a bi-weekly basis.

(deep breath)

Now, prior to film Bearden worked on short films and commercials. His short, The Raftman, won several Film Festival Awards and received top praise from the international film community. In fact, we took the pleasure of hunting it down. Check it out!

One woman in Germany is reported to have seen the feelgood movie more than 70 times. Thanks to a top-of-the-market bow in Italy ($2.6 million from 276 screens) and strong holdovers, the mother-daughter relationship story set to the music of ABBA pulled in $13.6 million over the weekend from 4,173 dates in 44 territories, lifting its foreign gross to $377 million. The Meryl Streep starrer, off just 14% from last weekend, held the No. 4 slot at the U.K. boxoffice in its 13th weekend, reaching a market gross of $123.2 million. The film, with eight more offshore openings to come, is 2008’s highest-grossing film in 11 countries and among the top 5 of all time in these markets, according to Universal. . . Read More

Surrounded by friends and family, including his wife, Joanne Woodward, the actor and philanthropist passed away at his farmhouse home near Wesport, Conn., after a long battle with cancer. He was 83. In a film career that spanned nearly six decades, Newman received seven Oscar nominations before he was finally presented with an Honorary Oscar in 1986 “in recognition of his many and memorable and compelling screen performances and for his personal integrity and dedication to his craft.”. . . Read More

The movie, which will begin shooting next month, takes its cue from a forthcoming comic book that producer Lionel Wigram wrote as a selling tool for a new take on the classic character. The concept sees Holmes as more adventurous and less stuffy than previous screen incarnations and mines more obscure character traits. Downey will play Holmes while Mark Strong (”RocknRolla”) plays the main villain, Blackwood. Jude Law is portraying Holmes’ colleague Watson. ...Read More
